Managing Helpdesk Modules

Helpdesk modules represent major functional areas such as Tickets, Contacts, Companies, Activities, Knowledge Base, and other enabled capabilities.

Module configuration

Administrators may control supported module settings, visibility, navigation, fields, layouts, or related behavior.

Before changing a module

Understand:

  • who uses it
  • what records it contains
  • whether automation depends on it
  • whether integrations use it
  • whether reporting depends on its fields

Disabled functionality

Do not expose unfinished or unsupported links merely because a module definition exists.

A user-facing module should correspond to functionality that is ready for the intended audience.

Configuration consistency

Use consistent terminology and access behavior across related modules.

Good practices

Treat module configuration as part of the product architecture rather than isolated interface settings. Test create, read, update, access, and navigation behavior after substantial changes.
