Integrations & API

Working with API Resources

Working with API Resources

API resources represent Helpdesk data and actions exposed through supported endpoints.

Resource concepts

A resource may represent entities such as:

  • tickets
  • contacts
  • companies
  • activities
  • other supported Helpdesk objects

Resource identifiers

Use the identifiers returned by the API rather than assuming database structure or internal implementation details.

Reading resources

Read operations should request only the information required for the integration.

Creating and updating

When writing data, validate required fields, enum values, relationships, and permissions.

Error handling

Do not treat every non-success response as the same problem.

Different errors may indicate validation, authentication, authorization, routing, or server failures.

Good practices

Keep integration code aligned with the documented API contract. Avoid depending on undocumented fields or internal database tables.
